Senior Social Worker, Childrens Child Protection & Court team

Our client is looking to recruit a Senior Social Worker for the Childrens Child Protection & Court team.
As a Senior Practitioner, you have the opportunity to help our client with the ongoing development of their staff with their knowledge, experience and practice. You will closely work with the managers to develop the team and deliver high quality service to our children, young people, foster carers, connected carers and special guardians.
You will provide coaching, mentoring, training and support to apprentices, step up students and traditional students. Leading on areas of practice development and training within the wider service, you will support with the implementation of our practice standards, quality assurance framework, professional values, policies and procedures.
You will be fully qualified (DipSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent), with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in statutory social care and dedicated to delivering positive outcomes for our children. You'll be experienced in assessment skills and supervision roles to help train and support foster carers.
This is an exciting opportunity to join their developing team and contribute to creating a safe and supportive learning environment for Herefordshire’s work force.  You will be supported by an established team with a strong commitment to relationship-based practice, flexible working and professional development.

Responsibilities of the Senior Practitioner:

- Attend court, where appropriate, to assist the team in ensuring that key professional input and expertise is provided to high profile and sensitive cases.
- Commitment to your own personal development and professional growth.
- Plan, implement and evaluate the outcomes of social work interventions with children and young people

- Develop effective working partnerships with those with parental responsibility, carers and significant others in the life of the child or young person.

- Contribute to the induction of all new staff in consultation with managers and the workforce support officer.
- Undertake high quality assessments of need and risk assessments.

 
Requirements of you as the Senior Practitioner:

- Social Work Degree or equivalent Social Work Qualification
- Substantial diverse experience working with children and families.
- Working knowledge of procedures relating to Looked After Children, Children in Need and Children in Need of Protection.
- Experience of supervising or mentoring others.
- Social Work England registration
- A full UK driving licence
- DBS clearance
- Authority to work in the UK
