Teaching Assistant

Supply Desk is proud to collaborate with a well-regarded Secondary School located near central Southampton, offering three full-time Teaching Assistant positions starting immediately and extending until July 2024, with potential for permanent placement for the right candidates.

Role Overview:

Join a dynamic team as a Teaching Assistant, supporting students in their educational journey. Ideal candidates will possess experience in similar roles or relevant support work with secondary-aged students. You will be working in the Schools Special Needs department at times as well and will be supporting students in small groups as well as supporting the classroom teacher. An understanding of working with students with additional needs is preferred. Candidates should hold relevant qualifications and training in education, demonstrating positivity and strong engagement with students. 

Key Details:

• Pay: Competitive daily rate (£75-£85)
• Location: Conveniently situated near central Southampton
• Start Date: Immediate
• Contract Length: Until July 2024, with permanent prospects
• Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (08:00 - 15:00)

Responsibilities:

• Supervise assigned work in adherence to school policy
• Support students across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Maintain a constructive learning environment by managing student behavior
• Address student inquiries regarding processes and procedures
• Handle immediate issues or emergencies following school protocols
• Collect and return completed work to the appropriate teacher
• Provide feedback on student behavior and any arising issues per school procedures
