Qualified Teacher: £31,350- £42,689

Unqualified Teacher: £21,933- £33,464

Salary: £29,344- £44,919

Part-time or Full-time

Job Description: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Textiles Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in textiles and fashion design, with experience teaching students of all ages and abilities. The Textiles Teacher will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging curriculum content, fostering creativity, and providing guidance and support to students as they explore the world of textiles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive and engaging curriculum content for textiles courses.
  • Teach practical skills in sewing, pattern-making, garment construction, and other aspects of textiles and fashion design.
  • Foster creativity and critical thinking through hands-on projects and assignments.
  • Provide guidance and support to students as they develop their own design ideas and projects.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help students improve their skills.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate textiles education with other subjects and interdisciplinary projects.
  • Stay current with industry trends and developments in textiles and fashion design.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Textiles, Fashion Design, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Previous teaching experience, preferably in textiles or fashion design.
  • Strong knowledge of textiles techniques, materials, and processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to explore their creativity.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the overall success of the school community.
