Facilities Support Assistant - Reputed University
Our client, a leading university, is hiring a Facilities Support Assistant to deliver exceptional facilities services across campus. This role offers a vital opportunity to contribute to a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for staff and students alike.
What you'll be doing:
* Locking/unlocking areas to maintain security, following policies.
* Performing deep cleaning and specialist cleaning tasks after training.
* Managing waste removal and disposal efficiently.
* Clearing pathways, roads, and entrances of obstructions, including snow and ice treatment.
* Maintaining noticeboards and communal areas to standard.
* Cleaning internal and external spaces, adhering to policies.
* Conducting routine checks, reporting damages or cleanliness issues.
* Safely handling post, confidential waste, furniture, and large items between sites.
* Setting up rooms, ensuring cleanliness and supplies.
* Responding to emergency alarms and participating in safety training.
* Supporting the control room, monitoring access, and answering queries.
* Assisting with parking and other operational controls.
* Carrying out handyman tasks and planned maintenance.
* Supporting team members across departments as needed.
What you'll bring:
* Numerate and literate with good communication skills.
* Full driving licence.
* Experience in caretaking, security, cleaning, or portering roles.
* Sufficient mobility and dexterity for all tasks.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additional info:
* Starting salary: competitive, with annual increments plus 10% shift allowance.
* Shifts: Early (7am-2.24pm) and late (1.30pm-9pm), with weekend work.
* Uniform and PPE provided.
* Training in health & safety, first aid, manual handling, and evacuation procedures.
