Junior Analyst - Banking

Junior Analyst to work for a large Bank based in the South West Area (Gloucester or Bristol) paying around £23,000 per annum dependant on experience. This role will kick start your career and will quickly excel you into a exciting career with high earning potential!

Job Description

The primary purpose of the role is to ensure the production of monthly Impairment and Capital results within the banks' governance framework. This visible role is accountable to an extensive list of stakeholders. Work to support delivery of key objectives within Capital and Impairment Reporting. We're looking for numerate, analytical candidates with the ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders.

Key skills required for the Junior Analyst

  • Produce accurate and timely Capital and Impairment reporting for the bank.
  • Develop and maintain the Capital and Impairment models, reporting suite and control framework.
  • Identify weaknesses in models, processes and controls and be able to recommend and implement enhancements.
  • Understand and develop relationships with key stakeholders to ensure smooth running of the reporting timetables.
  • Some knowledge of SAS, SQL and Excel would be beneficial.
  • The role requires the ability to meet multiple demanding deadlines, with a high level of accuracy.
  • Provide insight into monthly movements through analytical investigation using SAS/SQL and Excel.

Your background/interests

  • Graduates from a technical or scientific background e.g Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics etc.
  • University Degree educated or equivalent
  • SAS experience preferred but not essential, aptitude for coding, training will be on the job
  • Capital impairment, loans and current account portfolios, interested in joining a credit risk team
