Contract Type: Long Term Contract Supply Desk are a nationwide education recruitment company specialising in Primary, SEND, and Secondary education. We place our teaching staff in day-to-day and long-term placements across East Sussex and the surrounding areas. About the Role:
We are looking for dedicated and patient SEN Teaching Assistants to support children with special educational needs in a Horam-based school. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping pupils with additional needs to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. You will play a key role in creating a supportive and inclusive environment where every child can access the curriculum and make progress. Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting students with a range of special educational needs on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.
• Assisting the class teacher with adapting lessons and resources to meet individual learning needs.
• Helping to maintain a positive, nurturing, and structured learning environment.
• Managing behaviour effectively and promoting engagement and independence.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff. Requirements:
• Previous experience supporting children with SEN is desirable but not essential.
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
• A current DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply for one. What we Offer:
