Job Description

This two form entry school in North London is seeking an experienced SEN teaching assistant to start as soon as possible or from September, if preferred.

This school is based in the heart of a quiet residential area of North London, with good links to public transport and parking available.

The Headteacher, who is well-established, has a determination to continually strive for even higher standards and has a dedicated team in place to help achieve this. As a result, the school has a lovely, creative and busy environment.

The Role:

The school requires an experienced teaching assistant with SEN experience. You will predominately be working with children with Autism (ASC) and will be working on a 1:1 basis and also with small groups. There is some flexibility in the year group, depending on the school requirements and where possible, your preferences. Please note that the children do not have extreme behavioural issues, but they do respond well when they have firm boundaries given. This is a really interesting, rewarding role in a great school.


You will need to meet the following criteria to be considered for this role:

  • Have experience with children with SEN(including ASD and EBD)
  • Excellent communication skills(you will be dealing with many colleagues/professionals/parents in the role)
  • A patient, calm and perseverant approach
  • Very good team skills and a good sense of humour!
  • You will need a good level of English and Maths as you will be working with upper KS2 pupils to help them with their work
