Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Solicitor to join the Contracts and Procurement Legal Team in the local authority sector on a contract basis for 4 to 5 months. - Provide clear legal advice on contracts and procurement within the local authority.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex contractual documents.
- Advise on procurement processes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and best practices.
- Deliver first-rate legal support, focused on client service and continuous improvement.

- Work directly with senior managers, providing practical legal support.
- Produce reports and data for team and organisational needs.
- Offer legal advice on major projects and other key initiatives.
- Advise elected members and the senior leadership team as appropriate.
- Tackle ad hoc tasks as they arise.
- Help further the Council’s climate and ecological priorities.

Your skills

- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister (England & Wales)
- Strong background in contracts and procurement law
- Experience working for a local authority or within the public sector
- Confident working with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Politically astute, proactive, and solutions-focused

If you’re a skilled contracts and procurement lawyer seeking a new contract role within the local authority sector in London, we'd love to hear from you. Interviews to take place as soon as possible with a view to a start sooner thereafter.
