Associate Director - Commercial Development sector

London Office

£75k-£80k plus extensive benefit scheme

This is an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director to join a small team of experts in a growing Project Management consultancy based in their London Office. This consultancy is a recognised, successful and thriving company. The projects will be on a large scale providing you with the perfect opportunity to excel in your career.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced project delivery professional looking to make a real impact in role and develop their expertise and career as an integral part of collaborative organisation under a highly regarded brand with over 35 years' presence in industry.

In this role as Associate Director you will be responsible for the delivery and strategic management of commissions of significant size and complexity through all phases of design, preconstruction, construction and project completion, predominantly within the Commercial Development sector with minimal supervision and oversight from a Project Director or Director.

Experience/Skills/Requirements

Essential

  • Approximately 10+ years' delivering project commissions (construction values in excess of £25m) through the full project life cycle in the Commercial Development sector.
  • Extensive experience performing the role of the Contract Administrator/Employers Agent under the relevant building contracts.
  • Prior experience working in a client focused, consultancy-based environment or directly for commercial developer.
  • Good knowledge of the construction industry and technical matters such as procurement and managing financial elements of a project.
  • Advanced communicator and presenter at senior/executive client level, able to understand clients' specific needs, tailoring advice and communications as required.
  • Confident managing the day-to-day delivery and strategic direction of commissions. Delegating tasks whilst meeting deadlines, ensuring work and projects are running in line with expectations.
  • Confident leading and managing others with a desire to focus on mentoring and developing junior talent.
  • Adept at problem-solving and a drive to overcome obstacles to obtain positive results for clients, exceeding expectations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel and Word etc.

Desirable

  • Additional experience delivering project commissions in any of the following sectors:
    • Corporate Occupier
    • Residential
    • Mixed Use
    • Hotels
    • Life Sciences
    • Higher Education
  • Prior experience of business development i.e., identifying both new opportunities, preparation of bids, submissions and preparing fee proposals.
  • BA/BSc/MA/MEng degree in construction related field.
  • Professional accreditation with industry related professional body (RICS, CIOB, APM etc.)
  • Proficiency in the use of ASTA Powerproject
