Assistant Manager Location: South Bristol Salary: £28,136 per annum Hours: Full-Time | Monday to Friday (Rotational Shifts) Early Shift: 7:45am - 4:15pm Late Shift: 9:45am - 6:15pm Weekend Work: One weekend per month (with time off in lieu) Saturday: 8:00am - 5:00pm Sunday: 10:00am - 4:00pm About the Role We are seeking a motivated Assistant Manager to support the day-to-day operations and performance of a busy customer-focused site in South Bristol. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys a mix of sales, operations, and people management. You'll play a key part in ensuring a high standard of customer service, supporting team members, and helping to drive revenue and performance across the site. Main Duties Contribute to achieving financial targets by identifying revenue growth opportunities and increasing site occupancy Provide an outstanding customer experience by responding effectively to a range of customer needs Support the Store Manager in daily operations and take full responsibility in their absence, including reporting and financial oversight Maximise every sales opportunity by promoting services to new and existing customers in person and over the phone Maintain high standards of site presentation, cleanliness, and Health & Safety compliance Assist in training, supporting, and motivating team members to ensure operational excellence Ensure all administrative tasks and compliance procedures are completed accurately and in a timely manner Monitor and report maintenance and repair needs, ensuring swift resolution Lead local marketing initiatives and ensure they are carried out effectively Manage and reduce bad debt by implementing and following appropriate control procedures Raise operational concerns or development needs to the Regional Manager or Store Manager as necessary Contribute to strategic planning of space and layout, using internal reports to support improvement suggestions Skills Required To succeed in this role, you should demonstrate: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong customer service focus, with the ability to handle diverse customer needs confidently A detail-oriented and disciplined approach to procedures and compliance A hands-on, can-do attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a small team Confidence in taking ownership and accountability, especially in the absence of a Store Manager An ability to lead by example and positively influence colleagues Familiarity with working toward targets and KPIs Comfortable using internal systems and reports to monitor performance and make informed decisions If you're ready to step into a leadership role where your input truly matters-and you thrive in a customer-focused, commercial environment-we'd love to hear from you.
