Banqueting Head Chef - 5* Luxury Hotel - Edinburgh City Centre

• Total package approx £62,000per annum
• £55,000 basic salary per annum, plus service charge estimated at £7,000 per annum
• 40 hours per week across five days, including weekends
• 29 days holiday per year, with public holidays included

• Meals on shift, with uniform supplied and laundered

A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced Banqueting Head Chef to join one of Edinburgh's most prestigious five star hotels, in a senior kitchen position reporting directly to the Executive Chef. The Banqueting Head Chef will take full ownership of the banqueting and events kitchens, leading the brigade of 16 chefs across functions for up to 400 covers, daily afternoon tea service, round the clock room service and the staff restaurant.

This is a position for a chef who enjoys running a large operation at pace and to a very high standard. The successful Banqueting Head Chef will be responsible for the quality and consistency of everything leaving the kitchen, alongside purchasing, stock and the financial performance of the department, working closely with the Executive Chef.

Recruitment, training and the development of the brigade sit with this role, as does compliance across food safety and hygiene. The Banqueting Head Chef forms part of the hotel's wider management team, sitting in on the management meetings and accountable for budget and food cost performance. Candidates should have experience at a senior level within a high end kitchen, with a background in large scale banqueting or events catering.

Strong leadership, excellent organisation and a thorough understanding of kitchen financial controls are essential.
