Civil Engineer - Building Projects

Contract

A leading international engineering and design consultancy is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join its growing Building Design team. The business delivers high profile infrastructure and building projects across the UK and overseas, offering employees the opportunity to work on complex and technically challenging developments within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.


Responsibilities
o Contributing to the delivery of small to medium infrastructure projects as part of a technically focused design
o Production of designs for projects in accordance with relevant design standards and codes
o Ensuring the provision of efficient and high-quality engineering services
o Effectively manage own time
o Collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary design team
o Comply with Quality and Technical Assurance Procedures.
o Be aware of and work in compliance with BIM standards, Digital Plan of Work and the project BIM Execution plan.

Essential
o Drainage Experience
o Info drainage or Flow Software
o Roads & Car Park Experience
o Civils 3D Software
o 5+ years xp

Requirements
o Experience working as a Civil Engineer ideally in the Buildings sector.
o Honors Degree in Civil Engineering (preferred) or HND or equivalent experience.
o Working towards chartership with the ICE.
o Experience in the design and analysis of drainage, utilities, paved and unpaved surfaces, earthworks, access and accessibility, construction logistics.
o Familiarity with current UK design standards and working practices.
o Good communication and presentation skills, verbal and written (for report writing purposes).
o Ability to use AutoCAD and Civils 3D. Revit BIM 360 experience is also desirable.
o Ability to work and collaborate both independently and as part of a multi-discipline team.
o Embrace new technologies including digital engineering, automation and parametric design.
o Ability to achieve SC clearance (desirable)
o Driving License (desirable)


Preferable
o Experience dealing with statutory approvals with regulators
o Experience on small scale buildings type projects i.e. NOT highways, utilities, rail etc.
o Chartered with ICE
