| Building Performance Engineer Wakefield (Hybrid – 2 days onsite, 3 remote) 4 roles | Start by 1 April My Client are seeking  four experienced Building Performance Engineers to support the property portfolio of a big public services contract , covering 2,000+ assets including schools, civic buildings, heritage sites and public facilities. This is a senior, compliance-led engineering role focused on driving statutory adherence, asset performance and data-driven maintenance strategy across a complex, multi-site estate. ------------------------- The Role You will act as the engineering compliance and performance lead across the portfolio, ensuring all building services are delivered in line with statutory, contractual and SFG20 standards. Working closely with FM, compliance and operational teams, you will provide technical oversight, audit assurance and performance improvement across subcontracted engineering services. ------------------------- Key Responsibilities Compliance & Technical Assurance - Lead statutory compliance across all M&E services in line with SFG20 and legislative requirements - Oversee FRA, WRA, SSOW, RAMS and COSHH reviews - Audit engineering activities and ensure insurance inspections and mandatory tasks are completed - Provide Authorising Person–level technical guidance where required - Advise on lifecycle planning and forward maintenance regimes Performance & Reporting - Monitor and analyse engineering compliance data across the portfolio - Produce detailed MI reports, trend analysis and improvement plans - Monitoring the type of occupancy of the facilities, ensuring compliance with the respective statutory regulation, mandatory legislation and recognised best practice in consultation with the FM Team, Compliance Manager, Contract Manager, Account Director, and clients as appropriate. - Work closely with the Energy & Sustainability Manager giving technical support on innovations and initiative implementation. - Review and optimise PPM schedules, exploring condition-based maintenance strategies - Ensure technical KPIs and contractual obligations are consistently achieved Technology & Systems - Utilise CAFM systems to monitor contract performance and compliance - Strong working knowledge of CAFM platforms essential. - Support integration of client systems, APIs and IoT-driven asset insights Commercial & Stakeholder Management - Support contract performance, supplier management and service reviews - Assist with variations, additional works pricing and lifecycle cost application - Build effective working relationships across operational, compliance and client teams ------------------------- About You - 5+ years’ experience within large, multi-site FM or corporate estates - Strong compliance background with in-depth knowledge of SFG20 and statutory building services requirements - Engineering qualification (HND, CIBSE or equivalent) with M&E bias - Health & Safety qualification - Experienced in engineering audits and corporate reporting environments - Advanced analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly - Confident influencing stakeholders and driving performance improvement ------------------------- This is a high-visibility role within a growing FM, Engineering and Technology environment, suited to candidates from major FM providers who are confident operating across complex public-sector estate.
