Building Services Engineer

Role

Working with a leading tier 1 main contractor, we are recruiting for a position that is a key role within their project team. Reporting to the Building Services Manager, the Building Services Engineer will assist in the successful delivery of building services from construction through to commissioning and handover. The role requires managing multi-discipline MEP subcontractors and liaising effectively with the client’s team to align with their objectives across all building services disciplines. You will be responsible for ensuring that building services systems are coordinated, installed, and delivered to the highest standards of quality, compliance, and performance. This position demands a proactive approach to project delivery, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve project goals.

A degree or HND in Building Services or a related field is essential and must be part of the candidate’s qualifications.

• Ability to manage multi-discipline MEP subcontractors
• Strong liaison and stakeholder management skills with clients and project teams
• Knowledge of building services disciplines including mechanical, electrical, and public health systems
• Understanding of construction to commissioning and handover processes
• Ability to coordinate and integrate building services within project timelines
• Quality assurance and compliance management
• Problem-solving and technical decision-making skills
• Effective communication and reporting skills
• Organisational and time management skills

Certifications & Standards

• Degree or HND in Building Services or related discipline (mandatory)
• CSCS card (mandatory)
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations and relevant building standards (advantageous)
• Awareness of sustainability standards such as BREEAM (advantageous)
