Job Description |
| Winning a contract feels very different when you've created the opportunity yourself, developed it over several months and taken it all the way to signature. As a Business Development Manager, you'll have the freedom, territory and support to do exactly that, representing an established name in workwear rental and managed textile services. This is a pure acquisition role. There is no inherited account portfolio to service and no expectation that you'll spend half your week managing existing customers. You'll prospect across Hampshire, Surrey and Kent, meet decision makers face to face and turn opportunities into long term recurring contracts. What’s in it for you - £45,000 basic salary with annual salary increases and uncapped commission, with OTE of £75,000 - Home based working with ownership of a territory covering Hampshire, Surrey and Kent, this role will suit people that live in the areas of Redhill / Reigate, Crawley, East Grinstead, Horsham or around the northern Sussex / southern Surrey belt. - Hybrid company car, currently a Hyundai, plus fuel card - Dedicated lead-generation support providing approximately 1–2 appointments per week - Established marketing support, modern technology including Microsoft Teams and Copilot, and the backing of a recognised UK provider - A 100% acquisition-focused position where commission is earned on everything you sell, with no account management responsibility after successful handover Your responsibilities as Business Development Manager - Build a strong pipeline across your territory through proactive prospecting, field activity, referrals and internally generated appointments - Identify organisations using professional or protective workwear and engage relevant decision-makers across procurement, operations, production, health & safety and facilities - Explore existing supplier arrangements, service challenges, workforce requirements and costs before developing an appropriate managed-service solution - Manage opportunities through discovery, proposal, negotiation and close, maintaining momentum across typical sales cycles of three to six months - Work with the internal lead generation team to nurture promising prospects and secure meetings where additional support can open the door - Complete a structured handover after securing each contract before returning your focus to developing the next opportunity What we’re looking for in a Business Development Manager - A proven track record in B2B industrial rental, recurring revenue or contract service field sales - Strong Business Development experience of consultative prospecting, lead generation and winning customers from cold or self generated opportunities - Evidence of managing longer sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders, proposals and commercial negotiation - Experience selling solutions or services where understanding operational requirements is central to the sale - Full UK driving licence and the ability to travel regularly throughout Hampshire, Surrey and Kent You could be speaking with a manufacturer one day, a logistics operation the next and an automotive or food-production organisation after that. The common thread is that you'll be finding employers that need a reliable managed workwear solution and demonstrating the commercial and operational value of changing supplier. You'll be backed by an established UK operation with significant infrastructure, dedicated marketing and lead-generation resources. You'll still be expected to create your own opportunities, but you won't be doing it without support or trying to establish credibility for an unknown provider.
