| This is a role for someone who enjoys opening doors, uncovering commercial challenges, and building tailored solutions that deliver real value for clients and long-term revenue for the business. As a Business Development Manager (B2B), you’ll join the Conventions sales team of one of the UK’s most iconic and commercially diverse live events and conventions organisations. This is a new business and growth-focused B2B sales role. So, we are looking for somebody who works at pace and loves to hit the phones, meet with prospects and open conversations. You will also be great at converting inbound enquiries and pricing and quoting for complex and varied events. You MUST have prior events, exhibitions, or conventions experience. You do need to be comfortable generating and closing new B2B business. What’s in it for you - £40,000 - £45,000 basic salary - Uncapped commission with realistic OTE of £70,000–£100,000+ - Pension scheme and private healthcare - 25 days holiday + bank holidays - A range of additional benefits and perks, plus a hybrid working model - A genuinely exciting, high-profile environment to sell within, where you can enjoy autonomy, ownership and being trusted to run your patch like a business Your responsibilities as Business Development Manager - Proactively identify, target, and win new B2B clients across assigned sectors, generating your own pipeline through outbound prospecting, networking, referrals, and events - Lead consultative sales conversations focused on client objectives, challenges, and outcomes, creating tailored proposals and commercial solutions aligned to client needs - Own the full sales cycle from first conversation through to contract close - Develop and grow a portfolio of existing clients to maximise repeat business and lifetime value, upselling and cross-selling relevant solutions to increase revenue and profitability - Build trusted, long-term client relationships through insight-led account management - Manage and forecast a healthy sales pipeline against revenue and KPI targets, optimise diary utilisation, yield and margin, contribute to sales planning, and maintain accurate CRM records and sales reporting What we’re looking for in a Business Development Manager - Events or Conferencing B2B sales experience, with proven success in generating and closing new B2B business - A track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets and revenue KPIs, with strong consultative selling skills and a solution-focused mindset - Confidence in influencing, negotiating, and presenting at a senior level - Commercial awareness and the ability to balance client value with profitability - Experience in complex or multi-stakeholder sales environments and exposure to selling services, space, experiences, or bespoke solutions would be advantageous This is an opportunity to sell by asking “What are you trying to achieve?”, not “How fast can I close?” You’ll thrive in an environment where creativity, commercial thinking, and relationships matter, with uncapped earning potential and realistic, achievable OTE. If you like the idea of selling solutions, not products, this is an opportunity to do exactly that. You’ll be joining a nationally recognised organisation with an outstanding reputation, varied commercial offering, and a sales environment that rewards creativity, initiative, and performance. This is a chance to sell something meaningful, visible, and genuinely exciting, backed by a strong internal team and infrastructure. Hit the apply now button!
