WHAT DOES THE ROLE INVOLVE?

As a Catering Assistant, you'll help ensure the smooth running of the school kitchen and provide an excellent meal service to pupils and staff.

Your duties may include:

• Preparing food and ingredients

• Serving meals to pupils and staff

• Assisting with busy lunchtime services

• Washing up and cleaning kitchen areas

• Maintaining clean and tidy workspaces

• Following food hygiene and health and safety procedures

• Supporting the wider catering team where needed

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for candidates who are reliable, hardworking and happy to work as part of a team.

To be considered, you will need:

• An Enhanced DBS check – essential for working in schools

• Two references

• A Food Safety Level 2 certificate, or willingness to obtain one

• A Food Allergen Awareness certificate, or willingness to obtain one

• Good timekeeping and a positive attitude

• Previous catering experience is desirable but not essential

Already hold an Enhanced DBS? Great! You could be ready to start work sooner, subject to all required checks and compliance being completed.
