| Civil Engineer – Highways & Infrastructure  Location: Gateshead Salary: Competitive + Bonus + Benefits Type: Permanent An established and growing transport planning and infrastructure consultancy is looking to appoint a Civil Engineer to join their team in Gateshead. The business operates across multiple UK offices and delivers transport planning, highways design, drainage and development infrastructure solutions for a wide range of private developers and public sector clients. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of development projects while progressing within a collaborative consultancy environment.  The Role You will play a key role in the design and delivery of highways infrastructure projects, supporting schemes from concept through to detailed design and approval. Responsibilities include: - Delivering Section 278 and Section 38 highways design projects - Preparing and reviewing technical drawings, designs and reports - Ensuring designs comply with DMRB, MCHW and local authority standards - Managing project delivery to programme and budget - Coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders - Supporting the wider team with projects across multiple offices - Promoting innovation, quality and continuous improvement - Ensuring compliance with CDM regulations and health & safety requirements Requirements Essential - Experience delivering Section 278 / Section 38 highway schemes - Strong highways design experience - Working knowledge of DMRB and relevant highway standards - Experience delivering projects to programme and budget - Proficiency with Civil 3D - Ability to work independently and provide technical input to clients Desirable - Experience preparing cost estimates - Membership of a relevant professional institution - Full UK driving licence Benefits - Annual bonus and profit share - Private medical insurance - Private dental insurance - Company pension - Cycle to work scheme - Life insurance - Additional leave - Free parking - Company events |
