Job Responsibilities- Safely transport cylinders to customer sites and scheduled delivery points across the region.
- Load and unload cylinders in line with safe handling procedures and company requirements.
- Carry out pre-start checks and ensure the vehicle is maintained to a high standard.
- Follow all relevant road safety rules, site rules and operational procedures at all times.
- Complete delivery documentation accurately, including delivery notes and any required paperwork.
- Plan routes effectively to meet delivery schedules while maintaining safe driving practices.
- Report any defects, incidents or delays promptly to the transport team.
- Maintain a professional manner with customers and site personnel.
Required Skills & Qualifications- Valid UK driving licence with entitlement appropriate for the vehicle being operated.
- Experience driving in a commercial distribution environment (preferred).
- Strong understanding of safe loading, securement and handling practices for heavy goods.
- Good knowledge of UK road regulations and safe driving standards.
- Ability to complete paperwork accurately and on time.
- Good communication skills and a professional approach when dealing with customers and sites.
- Reliability and punctuality, with a commitment to completing deliveries safely.
- Comfort working to schedules and adapting to route or delivery changes when required.
- Awareness of health and safety expectations, including risk awareness and safe working practices.
- Basic IT or device familiarity for recording deliveries and using company systems (where required).
