Class 2 Driver - Home Deliveries
Location: Milton Keynes, MK15 8BA
Shift Times: Monday to Friday, 05:30 start
Pay Rate: £16.64 per hour
We're currently seeking a dedicated, full-time Class 2 Driver to join our Milton Keynes site. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidate, working as part of a three-person home delivery team.
Our client is a third-party provider of transportation and logistics services, offering a range of services including drayage, global freight forwarding and full truckload transport. The company is committed to environmental sustainability and works with customers to create action plans to reduce emissions.
About the Role
This is a challenging and physically demanding role involving multi-drop home deliveries, with many routes across Central London.
Our business specialises in delivering kitchens, which can involve carrying units and worktops into 3rd and 4th floor flats with no lift access. As a result, applicants must be physically fit and prepared for strenuous work and occasional long days. Most routes begin at 05:30, Monday to Friday. Similar previous home delivery experience is preferred.
What You'll Do - Safely operate a Class 2 vehicle while delivering high-quality customer service.
- Work as part of a three-person delivery team handling home deliveries.
- Deliver kitchen units, worktops and associated products to residential customers, including room-of-choice deliveries.
- Carry heavy items into properties, including upper-floor flats where no lift access is available.
- Complete multi-drop delivery routes, with the number of deliveries varying each day.
- Carry out kerbside deliveries to building sites where required.
- Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and ensure compliance with VOSA regulations.
- Use handheld scanners and complete all delivery paperwork accurately.
- Interact professionally with customers, providing a friendly and positive delivery experience.
What We Need From You - Valid Class 2 (Category C) Licence.
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
- No more than six penalty points and no DD, DR, IN or CD endorsements.
- Previous multi-drop delivery experience.
- Similar home delivery experience is preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of the UK road network.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- A positive, can-do attitude.
- A good level of physical fitness, as this role involves heavy lifting and carrying throughout the day. A Driver's Mate will often accompany you to assist with larger or more challenging deliveries.
