HGV Class 2 Driver / Yard Operative

Tormarton, Bristol | £16.00 per hour | Temp to Permanent | Full Time

We're currently recruiting for a HGV Class 2 Driver / Yard Operative on behalf of a well-established safety fencing specialist based in Tormarton, Bristol.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied workload, combining local driving duties with practical yard-based responsibilities. The successful candidate will join a busy and supportive team with the opportunity to secure a permanent position following a successful temporary period.

Key Responsibilities

As part of the depot team, your duties will include:

• Carrying out local deliveries and collections using a Class 2 vehicle.
• Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Assisting with the day-to-day running of the yard.
• Maintaining a tidy, organised and safe working environment.
• Organising stock and materials within the depot.
• Completing delivery paperwork and vehicle checks accurately.
• Operating yard machinery and equipment (training provided where necessary).
• Supporting colleagues with general operational requirements.

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this position, you will need:

• A valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence.
• Current Driver CPC qualification.
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• A proactive and reliable approach to work.
• The ability and willingness to work outdoors throughout the year.
• Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
• Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, transport or logistics environment would be beneficial, although not essential.
