Job Description |
Permanent | £18–£19 per hour (DOE) | Immediate Start Available Our client, a leading precision engineering company based in Coventry (CV7), is seeking an experienced CNC Milling Machine Programmer/Setter/Operator to take on a technical leadership role within one of their advanced milling cells. Each cell comprises four milling machines (3- and 5-axis), and the successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring production efficiency, quality, and technical excellence. Working Hours: Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4:30pm (Flexible start times: 6:00am / 6:30am / 7:00am / 7:30am) Friday: 7:30am – 12:30pm (Flexible start times: 6:00am / 6:30am / 7:00am / 7:30am) Key Responsibilities: - Program (on- and offline), set, and operate CNC milling machines. - Interpret engineering drawings and 3D digital models accurately. - Produce prototypes and small production runs to high-quality standards. - Conduct manual and CMM inspections of finished components. - Maintain compliance with all quality and safety standards. - Provide technical support and mentorship to colleagues within the cell. - Contribute to a collaborative and efficient team environment. Experience & Qualifications: - Proven technical leadership experience within a CNC machining environment. - Apprentice-trained or equivalent relevant engineering qualification. - Strong background in precision machining with 3- and 5-axis milling. - Proficient with Heidenhain controls and programming (essential). - Capable of safely proving out new or unproven programs. - Skilled in inspection techniques using CMMs, gauges, and precision instruments. - CAM experience (ideally using Edgecam). - Experienced in working to tight tolerances across various materials, including Inconel, titanium, mild steels, brass, aluminium, super duplex, and plastics. - Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure. - A strong team player with good communication and problem-solving skills. - Flexible, reliable, and committed to continuous improvement.
