CNC Tool & Cutter Grinder
Tamworth
Full-Time, Permanent
£18.00 - £20.50 per hour (depending on experience)
37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday, Day Shift

Overview
A well-established engineering company based in Tamworth is seeking an experienced CNC Tool & Cutter Grinder to join their precision tooling team. The business operates a modern, high-tech facility equipped with state-of-the-art CNC grinding machines and a centralised oil filtration system. They specialise in producing high-quality cutting tools, offering both standard and bespoke solutions to clients across the UK and internationally.

Role Overview
As a CNC Tool & Cutter Grinder, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC grinding machines to produce precision cutting tools. You'll be involved in both standard and custom tool production, using advanced measuring equipment to ensure accuracy and quality. The ideal candidate will be confident working independently, interpreting technical drawings, and adhering to high standards of safety and workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up and operate CNC grinding machines (Walter, Rollomatic, and/or ANCA)
- Manufacture and modify cutting tools to exact specifications
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Carry out in-process inspections using a range of precision measuring instruments
- Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
- Maintain a clean, safe and efficient working environment
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments to meet customer requirements

Requirements

- Proven experience operating CNC Tool & Cutter Grinding machines, ideally Walter, ANCA, or Rollomatic
- Strong understanding of tooling, grinding processes, and material properties
- Ability to work from technical drawings and engineering instructions
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and hit the ground running
- Previous experience in a tooling or manufacturing environment is essential
