Communication Support Officer

12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Location: Derry/Londonderry
Hours: Full-Time Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm 39 hours per week
Working Pattern: On-site working

We are seeking a Communications Support Officer to join our team in Derry/Londonderry.
This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and organised communications professional who is passionate about employee engagement, storytelling, and creating meaningful employee experiences.
Reporting directly to the Manager, EMEA Internal Communications, you will support the delivery of internal communications programmes , helping colleagues understand the company's vision, celebrate achievements, and stay connected to business priorities.

About the Role

Reporting to the Manager, EMEA Internal Communications, this role will support the development and implementation of internal communication programmes and campaigns that drive understanding and alignment across the organisation.

Based in Northern Ireland, the successful candidate will assist with the development and delivery of EMEA internal communications programmes, helping to convey the organisation's story to employees and supporting recognition of site and employee contributions towards company milestones and priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Internal Communications Manager in delivering the annual internal communications plan for the Northern Ireland facility and EMEA.
  • Contribute to the planning, development and delivery of high-quality, engaging content for communication campaigns and engagement initiatives, ensuring consistency with brand and storytelling frameworks.
  • Update and maintain internal communication channels including SharePoint, digital signage and display areas.
  • Contribute to a content planner to support storytelling across internal and external channels.
  • Develop and maintain a shared resource hub of imagery and digital assets including photography, video and design materials.
  • Assist with planning and delivering internal events, including logistics, materials and live support.
  • Monitor and track the effectiveness of communication channels and provide insight-led recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Develop audience insights to support targeted communication using digital analytics where available.

About You

  • A creative and collaborative communicator with a passion for enhancing employee experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft engaging storytelling across multiple media including digital, photography, video and web.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience working collaboratively with key partners and stakeholders to develop, plan and deliver key initiatives.
  • A supportive team player who is comfortable making responsible decisions and contributing to shared learning.
  • Open to new ideas, feedback and adjustments in a fast-paced communications environment.

Essential Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in communications and/or marketing campaigns.
  • Demonstrates ability to prepare project and communications plans aligned to project, business, product, technology, engagement or brand strategies.
  • Proven experience delivering communication and engagement campaigns, including timeline management, resource coordination, action planning and evaluation.
  • Strong experience with content creation across a mix of digital, print and social media platforms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint), including AI tools.
  • Experience with design and editing tools such as Canva, Adobe Express and video editing applications.
  • Interest in continuous professional development, including the application of AI in work programmes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in communication/marketing campaigns in internal communications, change initiatives, employer brand and employee engagement
