Secondary Cover Supervisor – Southampton
Start Date: September 2025
Location: Southampton
Hours: 8:00am – 3:30pm
Pay: £90 – £130 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract: Full-time, long-term with the potential to become permanent

Supply Desk is working closely with a well-established secondary school in Southampton to recruit a full-time Cover Supervisor to start in September 2025. This long-term role offers the opportunity for a permanent contract for the right candidate.

The Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during teacher absences, delivering pre-prepared lessons, and maintaining a productive learning environment. Subjects may include Maths, History, Geography, and others across Key Stage 3 and 4.

This is an ideal opportunity for recent graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals with prior experience working in secondary education. You’ll need to be confident, adaptable, and have strong classroom management skills.

What We’re Looking For:

• A degree holder with ideally some experience working with young people or in education

• Confident managing classroom behaviour and delivering pre-set lesson material

• Flexible, enthusiastic, and committed to supporting student learning

• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one)
