Secondary Cover Supervisor – Basingstoke
Location: Basingstoke
Start Date: September 2025
Hours: 8:00am – 3:30pm
Pay: £90 – £130 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term, with potential to become permanent

Supply Desk is seeking to appoint a reliable and professional Cover Supervisor on behalf of a well-regarded secondary school in Basingstoke, starting September 2025. This full-time, long-term position offers the opportunity for a permanent contract for the right candidate.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes during teacher absences, delivering pre-prepared lesson materials, and maintaining a focused and respectful classroom environment. You will support a range of subjects across Key Stages 3 and 4, including core and foundation subjects such as Mathematics, English, History, and Geography.

This position is particularly suited to:

  • Recent graduates considering a career in education

  • Individuals with previous experience in secondary education or working with young people

  • Aspiring teachers seeking classroom experience prior to undertaking teacher training

About the School:

  • Mixed secondary school catering to students aged 11–16

  • Located in Basingstoke, with strong transport links

  • Positive and inclusive school culture, with a focus on academic progress and pastoral support

  • Rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, with strong and effective leadership

Candidate Requirements:

  • A degree holder with ideally some experience working with young people or in education
