Job Description

Manpower are currently seeking an interim Data and Systems Specialist (Regulatory and Safety) to work with our global FMCG client Unilever, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple, and become an integral part of their fast-paced FMCG environment.

The position can be based at either of our client's scientific Research & Development facilities in Port Sunlight Village, Wirral (easily accessible by train and car) or Colworth Science Park, in Sharnbrook, Bedfordshire (accessible by car), depending on candidate preference. This is a full-time temporary role to run for 6 months, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation for this role is competitive, paying up to £41,800 per annum, pro rata, depending upon experience.

The role currently offers a mix of remote and onsite working, subject to adjustment based on business requirements.

In this role you will work closely with the Unilever Teams and UFH team to develop, implement, and maintain the Data and Systems underpinning Unilever's fragrance Safety & Regulatory strategy, ensuring that our fragrances not only captivate but also comply with the highest safety and regulatory standards and the data flows seamlessly into Unilever consumer goods' compliance systems.

We are seeking candidates with a strong growth mindset who are excited about the opportunity to contribute to a newly formed team within Unilever's integrated, cross functional fragrance capability. We are looking for someone who is thorough, solutions oriented, and highly process minded. This role requires a hands-on individual who is comfortable taking ownership end to end-exploring issues, identifying solutions, and driving continuous improvement independently.

Key Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with the Fragrance Safety & Regulatory Science team to implement Unilever's fragrance safety and regulatory strategy.
  • Maintain and evolve the 'future-fit' data and information management system for fragrance safety assessment and regulatory compliance connecting End to End from Fragrance creation to end product
  • Ensure high standards of data quality and integrity to enable robust, transparent and defensible compliance decision making
  • Manage documentation and reporting processes to ensure adherence to regulatory, Unilever, and industry standards.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including R&D, to integrate safety and regulatory requirements into the roadmap for a future-proof fragrance portfolio.
  • Provide creative solutions promoting the use of analytics for decision making and unlocking new opportunities for fragrance excellence.

Key Requirements

  • An analytical approach and a background in STEM disciplines.
  • Minimum BSc in a relevant field, e.g. Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Regulatory Science, or equivalent.
  • Ability to take the initiative to detect opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Ability to proactively act to redesign ways of working and processes delivering always with excellence.
  • Inquisitive mind, desire to learn and find the root of the problems. Organised, problem solver.
  • Applicants must demonstrate fluency in English, including the ability to communicate clearly in both written and verbal formats.
  • Owner's mindset.
  • Strong analytical skills, rigorous, high standards for data accuracy, traceability and recording.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance processes is an advantage, though not essential.
  • Experience in managing data and systems, documentation, and reporting processes preferred.
  • Experience of internal cross functional collaboration and/or external collaborations in an international team preferred.
