Job Description

Are you looking to take the next step in your career?

Do you have a passion for helping children and changing students' lives?

This could be the role for you!

Our client is currently seeking a Deputy Head Teacher to join their multi-site College based in the Croydon and South Wimbledon areas.

What will you be doing?
Working with the other Deputy Headteacher, you will have delegated responsibilities which are both school-wide and of considerable weight. Your main role will be to oversee the Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural aspects of the schools. You will pro-actively manage staff and resources and jointly take responsibility for the school in the absence of the Headteacher.

In partnership with the Headteacher, the Deputy Head, and key senior leaders, you will establish and implement an ambitious vision and ethos for the future of the school. You will also promote a culture of inclusion within the school community where all views are valued and taken in to account.

What do you need?
To be considered for the role of Deputy Headteacher you need to hold a QTS, or be working towards it. You also need to be an outstanding practitioner with experience of working with pupils with ASD, Complex Needs and SEMH in a mainstream or special school.

Where will you be working?
You will be working at a multi-site school for students (5-19) with social, emotional and attachment difficulties, with additional complex needs and/or particularly challenging behaviour.

This school has a deep experience of succeeding with children, often for the first time. Their approach is nurture-based with a very high staff ratio in a therapeutic environment, which in turn enables students to feel safe and secure in their learning environment, enabling them to build their self-esteem and confidence.
