Design Manager
Location: Cookstown
Salary: £60,000-£70,000 per annum plus package (negotiable subject to experience)
Type: Full Time/Permanent/Hybrid 2-3 days in the office
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Design Manager to drive design excellence, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions that meet regulatory standards and project goals.
Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end design processes for water and wastewater treatment projects, from concept to delivery.
- Lead multidisciplinary design teams and supply chain partners, fostering collaboration and effective communication.
- Implement design performance management systems, set KPIs, and utilize Earned Value Analysis (EVA) to track design progress and initiate corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with technical standards and CDM regulations, prioritizing health and safety in design.
- Manage design changes, assessing impacts on scope, cost, and timeline while maintaining robust change control processes.
- Oversee QA processes to ensure design documentation meets required standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to align design solutions with project execution.
- Engage with clients, regulatory bodies, and contractors to secure approvals and meet specifications.
- Monitor design budgets and resources, adjusting strategies to meet financial targets.
What we require from you
- 8 years experience in design management
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Design Management, or related field. Chartered status or working towards will be a bonus.
- Familiarity with BIM, sustainable design principles, and project management certification (PMP or PRINCE2) is advantageous.
- Proven success leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering complex design solutions.
- Expertise in engineering disciplines, and design performance management.
- Expertise in water/waste water treatment (bonus)
