Job Title: Distribution Team Leader Location: Corby Salary: £14.41 Hours: Rotating shift pattern: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM & 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM Contract Type: Temp to Perm Job Summary: We are seeking a proactive and experienced Distribution Team Leader to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a small team within our busy distribution warehouse, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to health and safety standards. This role requires a hands-on approach, combining leadership skills with practical warehouse duties. Responsibilities: - Supervise and motivate a team of 4-5 warehouse staff per shift. - Allocate tasks and manage workload to ensure efficient workflow. - Monitor team performance and provide feedback, coaching, and support. - Resolve team issues and conflicts effectively. - Manage staff attendance, including timekeeping and absence management. - Oversee daily warehouse operations, including loading, tipping, and goods receipt/dispatch. - Ensure the accurate checking of pick sheets and sign sheets. - Maintain accurate records of stock movements and inventory. - Monitor and maintain the smooth running of the warehouse. - Manage the flow of drivers within the warehouse. - Ensure all team members comply with company health and safety procedures and regulations. - Promote a safe working environment. - Identify and report any health and safety hazards or concerns. - Ensure all staff are up-to-date with H&S guidelines. - Act as the "eyes and ears" of the shop floor, providing regular updates and feedback to management. - Communicate effectively with other departments, including warehouse, drivers, and management. - Report any operational issues, delays, or discrepancies to the appropriate manager. - Operate warehouse equipment, including PPT (Powered Pallet Truck), safely and efficiently. - Ensure that all equipment is in good working order and report any faults. - Contribute to the improvement of warehouse processes and procedures. - Maintain warehouse standards Qualifications and Experience: - 2-3 years of experience in a warehouse or distribution environment. - Proven experience in a team leader or supervisory role is essential. - Experience of working in a fast-paced environment - Valid PPT license and experience operating PPT is essential. - Strong understanding of warehouse operations, including loading, tipping, and goods receipt/dispatch. - Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse environment. Skills and Abilities: - Strong leadership and team management skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to motivate and supervise a team. - Good organizational and time-management skills. - Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. - Ability to work under pressure and solve problems effectively. - Good numerical and literacy skills. - Ability to work a rotating shift pattern (6:00 AM - 2:00 PM & 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM). - Flexibility and willingness to work in a hands-on role. - Proactive and able to use own initiative.
