EP&S Support Officer Start Date: 24 September 2025 End Date: 24 October 2025 (with potential for extension) Working Hours: 29.6 hours per week / 08:30am-16:30pm Pay Rate: £13.47 per hour Location: Hybrid - Ballard House (Plymouth) & home working Flexible Working: Choose between 5 full days or 4 shorter days Closing date: 18.09.25 Are you an organised, detail-oriented professional with a background in finance or administration? We're looking for a motivated EP&S Support Officer to join our client's team on a temporary basis, covering long-term sickness absence. While the initial contract runs for a month, there is a strong possibility of extension depending on circumstances. This is a hybrid role, offering the flexibility of working from home combined with office-based collaboration at Ballard House. You'll be part of a supportive team making a real difference in the lives of children in care. What You'll Be Doing: - In this varied and rewarding role, you'll support the Virtual School team with a mix of financial, administrative, and data-focused tasks, including: - Processing Personal Education Plans (PEPs): Ensuring funding is allocated correctly and liaising with the Virtual School Head where needed. - Maintaining Records: Keeping the Welfare Call system up to date with accurate information on children in care. - Financial Admin: Raising purchase orders, processing invoices, and supporting budget monitoring. - Data & Reporting: Collecting and analysing data to produce clear, accurate reports. - Document Management: Digitally filing confidential documents, statutory review minutes, and reports. - Customer Service: Acting as the first point of contact for enquiries, signposting and escalating as appropriate. - Event Support: Organising meetings, conferences, and information events. - General Admin: Supporting the wider team with a range of administrative duties. What We're Looking For: Essential Skills: - Strong understanding of basic accounting and budgeting - Confident using Microsoft Excel and financial software (e.g. Xero, MYOB) - Excellent administrative skills, including data entry and scheduling - High attention to detail and accuracy - Ability to handle confidential information with discretion - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Effective time management and organisational abilities Essential Qualifications & Experience: - Certificate or Diploma in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field - GCSEs (A-C / 9-4) in English and Maths, or equivalent - Previous experience in administrative and/or financial support roles - Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel - Experience using financial or accounting systems Why Join the team? - Be part of a team that supports vulnerable children and young people - Enjoy a flexible hybrid working model - Gain valuable experience in a public sector setting - Work in a supportive and collaborative environment Call Emily on 01752 601116 for more information or click 'Apply Now' to submit your application today!
