Electrical Design Manager – Building Services / MEP

South Wales

Salary: £65k-£75k

We are working with a leading building services contractor in South Wales who are looking to appoint an Electrical Design Manager to join their growing team. This is a senior role for someone who wants to lead electrical design delivery across major construction projects and be part of a contractor with a strong pipeline of work.

The Role

As Electrical Design Manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the electrical design function across multiple projects, ensuring high-quality delivery from concept through to installation. You will work closely with project teams, clients, and consultants to deliver practical and compliant designs.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and coordinate electrical building services design across multiple projects
- Review and approve designs, ensuring compliance with UK regulations and standards
- Liaise with project managers, site teams, clients, and consultants to ensure deliverable designs
- Support value engineering, buildability reviews, and project cost control
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
- Ensure designs are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards

Requirements

- Proven experience in electrical building services design
- Previous experience in a contractor, consultancy, or design & build environment
- Strong knowledge of UK electrical standards and building services regulations
- Experience managing or coordinating electrical design on construction projects
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

Salary & Benefits

- £65,000 – £75,000 per year, depending on experience
