Role: Emergence Nurse Practioner Salary: £47-£50 Location: Crawley, Uckfield, Horsham, Lewes, Bognor Job Type: Temp - ongoing contract Shifts: Days only (08:00-20:00 / 08:00-18:30) About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Emergence Nurse Practitioner (ENP) to join our team working at Crawley, Uckfield, Horsham, Lewes & Bognor services through HCRG Staffing Connect. The successful candidate will provide expert clinical care, working autonomously to assess, diagnose, and manage patients across a range of conditions, while contributing to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services within a public healthcare setting. HCRG Staffing Connect is the app-enabled nursing agency, backed by HCRG Staffing. Our team of consultants and the app work together to enable nurses like you to take control of your work. Book shifts yourself, via a consultant or use Auto-book to let us know when you want to work. The app will automatically pick up the shifts you want as soon as they're published. Key responsibilities include: - Provide autonomous assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients presenting with urgent and emergency conditions
- Prescribe medications in line with professional guidelines and local protocols
- Request and interpret diagnostic tests as required
- Manage minor injuries and illnesses independently, referring to other healthcare professionals when necessary
- Contribute to the delivery of high-quality, safe, and effective emergency care services
- Participate in the development and implementation of clinical pathways and guidelines
- Offer education and support to patients, families, and colleagues on emergency care practices
- Engage in clinical audits, quality improvement projects, and professional development activities
Essential Requirements - NMC / HCPC registered
- Minor Injury (ESSENTIAL)
- Minor Illness qualification desirable for Lewes
- Proven experience working in UTC / MIU / ED / Urgent Care
- Able to independently assess, diagnose, treat, and discharge
- X-ray requesting & interpretation skills (IRMER / Red Dot)
- Strong autonomous decision-making and triage skills
- Ability to safely redirect inappropriate attendances
Desirable (but highly preferred) - Non-medical prescriber (or strong experience working under PGDs)
- Experience managing minor injuries (fractures, wounds, splinting, plastering, suturing)
- Comfortable supporting junior staff and working within a multidisciplinary team
Additional Information - Roles are across multiple UTC & MIU sites (flexibility required)
- Candidates must be confident managing their own caseload independently
- Working alongside GPs, nurses, and wider urgent care teams
Who We Are Looking For: - Education: Master's degree or postgraduate qualification in Advanced Clinical Practice (or equivalent)
- Licenses: NA
- Experience: 1+
- Proven experience as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner or Senior Nurse within primary or secondary care
- Experience in assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic conditions
- Familiarity with working within multidisciplinary teams and leading clinical initiatives
- Skills:
- Advanced clinical decision-making and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
- Proficiency in using clinical systems such as SystmOne or EMIS
- Organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development
