About the Role:

Supply Desk is working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in Bushey to recruit a passionate and motivated English Teacher. This is a full-time role beginning in September 2025, offering an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking English department in a supportive school environment.

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 is advantageous), engaging students through creative and inclusive teaching approaches.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver well-structured lessons aligned with the national curriculum
  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND and EAL students
  • Track and assess pupil progress, providing timely feedback and support
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental improvement
  • Create a positive and inspiring learning environment
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives, meetings, and CPD sessions

Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – ECTs also welcome
  • Experience teaching English at secondary level (KS3/KS4 essential; KS5 desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum and assessment frameworks
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A collaborative and proactive approach to teaching and learning
  • A clear DBS (or willingness to apply for one)
  • A genuine passion for English literature, language, and education
