Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day management and maintenance of the school premises.
  • Ensure the site remains safe, secure, compliant, and operational at all times.
  • Open and lock the school site as required.
  • Manage planned and reactive maintenance activities.

    • Fire Safety
    • Legionella Management
    • Asbestos Management
    • PAT Testing
    • Health & Safety Compliance
  • Carry out regular site inspections and risk assessments.
  • Support and manage cleaning and site staff.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance issues and emergency situations.
  • Ensure the school grounds and buildings are maintained to a high standard.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Facilities Manager, Premises Manager, Site Manager, or School Facilities Manager.
  • Previous experience working within a school or educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing contractors and maintenance schedules.
  • Enhanced DBS (Child Workforce) certificate or willingness to obtain one immediately.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative.
  • Reliable, professional, and capable of managing multiple priorities.

What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will be a hands-on, dependable professional who can confidently take ownership of the school's facilities function from day one. You will have excellent attention to detail, a strong understanding of compliance requirements, and a commitment to providing a safe and well-maintained environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
