This Design Manager will ideally come from one of their main competitors, leading sub-contractor that is used to technically challenging facade packages up to £20million in value, or someone that comes from a specialist consultancy with at least 5 years worth of facades experiences. Duties and responsibilities include: - Produce details of façade systems based on architectural sketches and assist in the delivery of detailed façade tenders and shop drawing packages.
- Provide 2D and 3D drafting using Autocad software for architectural documentation and detailed working drawings
- Prepare façade technical specifications
- Coordinate with the relevant parties to raise/resolve project-related issues which could affect the delivery of the documentation
- Review and evaluate design deliverables to ensure buildability and compliance, liaising with the client's design team and specialist suppliers
- Working with both the in house and external project teams to ensure that the company, clients requirements, programme targets and budgets are achieved
- Attendance and hosting of internal and external design workshops representing the company
- Management of internal and external design teams to ensure compliance with the project design, incorporation of common details, product specification, building regulations and national standards
- Design cost management, accountability for design processes, recording and maintaining variations lists
