Elite Consultancy is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturer of compaction, paving, and road construction machinery. As their machine fleet continues to expand across key UK infrastructure projects, we are seeking a skilled and proactive Field Service Engineer to join their UK support team.

This Field Service Engineer position is home-based, offering autonomy and flexibility, supported by a central technical team and a nationwide service network. You'll be responsible for maintaining high-spec equipment used in civil engineering, utilities, and highways maintenance—ensuring uptime, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

- Service, maintain, and repair heavy plant and construction equipment at customer sites
- Diagnose hydraulic, mechanical, and electronic faults using software and schematics
- Carry out preventative maintenance in line with OEM schedules
- Install upgrades and retrofit systems (e.g., exhaust treatment, electrical components)
- Support customers and operators with technical advice and hands-on assistance
- Complete all service reports, timesheets, and part requisitions via digital platforms
- Collaborate with service controllers and technical support to manage workloads
- Follow all health and safety protocols and site procedures

What We’re Looking For:

- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plant, Mechanical, Agricultural, or Electrical Engineering
- At least 5 years’ experience as a Field Service Engineer in heavy plant, construction, or earthmoving machinery
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, CANbus, and SCR/DPF systems
- Proficient with diagnostic software and fault-finding tools
- Welding, fabrication, or hose assembly experience (advantageous)
- Full UK driving licence

What’s On Offer:

- Base salary of £43,500 per annum
- Overtime at £31.50/hour (time-and-a-half/double time where applicable)
- Paid door-to-door travel
- Fully stocked service van, tooling, laptop, phone, PPE, and fuel card
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays (with holiday buy-back options)
- Employer-matched pension (up to 5%)
- Life insurance (2–4x salary)
- Regular OEM-led training and progression opportunities

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Field Service Engineer who values independence, technical variety, and working with industry-leading equipment. Whether you're maintaining single drum rollers, tandem rollers, stabilisers, or pavers—your work will directly support critical infrastructure projects nationwide.
Apply now through Elite Consultancy and take your next step as a Field Service Engineer with one of the sector’s most respected OEMs.
