| Job Title: General Engineer Department: Engineering / Workshop Location: Telford Reporting to: Workshop/Production Manager Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday] We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established engineering company based in Telford, for a General Engineer to join their team. This is a hands-on role that involves working across a variety of machining tasks, with a focus on both milling and turning. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality, precision components to support ongoing projects and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities - Operate milling and turning machines (manual and/or CNC depending on experience) to produce precision components. - Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications. - Work to tight tolerances and quality standards. - Carry out general workshop engineering duties, supporting across different projects as required. - Set up machines, select appropriate tooling, and ensure safe operation. - Perform inspection of finished parts to ensure compliance with specifications. - Maintain equipment, ensuring machines are kept in good working condition. - Assist colleagues and contribute to a collaborative, team-focused workshop environment. - Follow company health & safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe working area. Skills & Experience Required - Previous experience in an engineering/machining role. - Strong knowledge of both milling and turning processes. - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. - Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Comfortable working independently and as part of a team. - Experience with CNC programming or setting is advantageous, but not essential. - Strong awareness of health and safety in a workshop environment.
