Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant – Special School, Birmingham
Are you a recent psychology graduate looking to gain meaningful experience supporting children and young people with additional needs? This specialist secondary school in Birmingham is seeking a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team and provide academic and pastoral support to pupils with a range of special educational needs. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring teacher, educational psychologist, or clinical psychologist to develop valuable skills in a rewarding environment.

The Role
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils access learning both in the classroom and through targeted interventions. You will provide 1-2-1 and whole class support, assist with personalised learning activities, and help students develop their confidence, independence, and social skills. Every day will be different, offering a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on young people's educational journeys.

The Candidate
This role is ideal for a psychology graduate who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and is considering a career in teaching, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, or a related field. You should be patient, resilient, and able to build positive relationships with pupils from a variety of backgrounds. A proactive attitude and strong communication skills are essential.
