School Head Chef (Temp) – Berkeley Scott Recruitment

The Role

As a temp Head Chef, you will take responsibility for the day to day management of the kitchen. You will be instrumental in helping with menu creation, maintaining high culinary standards, and always ensuring smooth and efficient service.

You will:

• Lead, support, and inspire a dedicated kitchen brigade
• Oversee menu development, seasonal dishes, and specials
• Ensure all food leaving the kitchen meets consistently high standards
• Manage stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships
• Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and compliance standards
• Control costs and maximise profitability without compromising quality
• Foster a positive and collaborative kitchen culture

To work for us you will need:

• Knowledge and understanding of DFE guidelines
• Enhanced DBS Certificate (Child workforce)
• RTW in UK
• 2x Employment References
• 1 years’ minimum work experience as a Head Chef ideally in an education setting
• Food and Safety Certificates (including Level 2 Food Safety Certificate)
• Excellent IT, and communication skills (whether written or verbal)
• Excellent time keeping skills
