Job Description |
| HSEQ Advisor | Newton Aycliffe | Covering Derby to Berwick-upon-Tweed | £40,000–£50,000 + Company Vehicle  Looking for a hands-on HSEQ role where you control your own diary and make a real difference across multiple sites?  My client is a well-established organisation operating a series of projects across the northern region, from Derby up to the Scottish border. Following an unexpected departure, they’re now seeking an HSEQ Advisor to cover the north end-to-end, working under the Head of HSEQ and ensuring day-to-day safety, compliance and quality standards are maintained across all projects.  This is a genuinely field-based role with no office tether. You’ll be out on site, conducting inspections, engaging with boots-on-the-ground teams, checking compliance, supporting project management with RAMS and risk assessments, and helping embed a proactive safety culture. Expect a mix of days and nights depending on project needs, with real flexibility to shape your own schedule around site visits, team catch-ups and emerging priorities.  You’ll report into the Head of HSEQ, participate in weekly catch-ups to identify trends and priorities, and then take ownership of visiting sites, addressing issues and driving improvements. There’s currently no other advisory resource covering the north, so you’ll be the go-to person for HSEQ support across the region from day one.  The client is open on experience level. If you’re early in your HSEQ career and looking for a role where you can grow, they’re happy to mentor and develop you. If you’re more experienced, particularly with Tech IOSH or similar, that’s a bonus—but what matters most is the right attitude, flexibility and ability to work autonomously. You’ll likely have: - NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent such as NCRQ/NVQ) - Strong knowledge of HSE legislation and experience conducting site inspections, audits and incident investigations - Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage your own diary across a multi-site region - Confidence to engage with teams at all levels, challenge where needed and support project managers with RAMS and risk assessments - Flexibility to work a mix of days and nights as project demands require - Full UK driving licence (company vehicle provided) In return, you’ll receive a company vehicle, laptop, phone and the autonomy to run your own patch across the north. Salary is expected in the region of £40,000–£50,000 depending on experience. If you’re the type of HSEQ professional who thrives in a self-directed, site-based role and wants to step into a position where you’re truly needed from day one, this one’s worth a conversation. We’re reviewing CVs now.
