Looking for a Hands-On Engineering Role with Training and Progression?

We are recruiting for two Build Technician / Semi-Skilled Fitter positions within a well-established engineering workshop in Bradford.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is mechanically minded, enjoys working with their hands, and wants to build a long-term career within engineering and hydraulics. Full training will be provided, making this role ideal for candidates with basic fitting experience who are keen to learn specialist skills.

Salary & Benefits

• Starting pay of £13.50 per hour
• It's a permanent position
• Expected pay increase of approximately £1 per hour after 3 months
• Overtime available:
• Time and one-third Monday to Saturday
• Double time on Sundays

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday: 7:00am - 3:30pm

Friday: 6:00am - 2:30pm

The Opportunity

The business specialises in the service, repair and overhaul of hydraulic pumps, motors, valves and transmissions, serving equipment used across a wide range of industries.

Initially, you will learn the strip-down, inspection and rebuild process of hydraulic units. As your knowledge develops, you will receive further training on the testing, fault-finding and diagnostics side of the operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Stripping and rebuilding hydraulic pumps and related components
• Inspecting parts for wear and potential faults
• Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Following engineering drawings and technical instructions where required
• Maintaining high quality and safety standards
• Supporting the workshop team to ensure products are ready for testing
• Keeping work areas clean, organised and safe

What We're Looking For

We are far more interested in attitude and willingness to learn than extensive hydraulic experience.

Candidates may come from backgrounds such as:

• Semi-Skilled Fitter
• Mechanical Fitter
• Assembly Technician
• Maintenance Technician
• Workshop Technician
• Vehicle Technician
• Engineering Operative
• Plant or Agricultural Machinery Background

You'll ideally have:

• Basic mechanical fitting knowledge
• Experience using hand tools
• An understanding of engineering drawings (desirable)
• Good attention to detail
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic
• The ability to work independently and within a team
• A genuine interest in developing new engineering skills
