Team Leadership & Management

  • Plan and prioritize your diary to ensure monthly 1-to-1s and performance reviews are completed.
  • Monitor care plans, workforce plans, and conduct regular audits.
  • Report regularly to the KCC Registered Service Manager and/or the Senior Management Team as required.
  • Manage your time effectively to meet business demands, overseeing a team of support workers across Kent to ensure productivity.
  • Meet your own Key Performance Objectives and actively support team members in achieving theirs and fulfilling contract and Ofsted requirements.
  • Review and monitor staff performance against contractual, team, and business requirements.
  • Provide cover for staff absences in the field.
  • Coordinate and liaise with team members to ensure cohesive and compliant service delivery.
  • Responsible for people management, including addressing sickness, absence, capabilities, and disciplinary matters.
  • Provide on-call cover during peak times or emergencies.

Young Person Support & Development

  • Provide direct support, advice, and guidance to support workers and the young people living independently.
  • Assist in developing young people's independent living skills.
  • Promote positive life choices, including social activities, budgeting, health, and education.
  • Research and maintain an up-to-date library of local services to assist in supporting young people.
  • Update and ensure progress is made with care plans.

Compliance & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Communicate and liaise with various stakeholders and local authorities, including the Police, NHS, charities, and Environmental Health.
  • Plan and manage personal business objectives in line with contract specifications and KCC standards.
  • Ensure the team is trained and developed to meet contract requirements and excel in their roles, adhering to Ofsted regulations.
  • Liaise with social services and other professionals regarding service delivery, support, and accommodation, responding to complaints/issues promptly.
  • Participate in service developments, including planning, control, monitoring, review, and evaluation for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all young people and staff are treated in accordance with the Equal Opportunities policy, with consideration for their cultural, religious, and physical needs.
  • Work to an agreed rota for on-call assistance for young people, staff, social services, and management.
  • Ensure all safeguarding issues are addressed and signposted in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the service aligns with OFSTED Government guidance and Supported Accommodation Regulations 2023, implementing necessary changes to meet minimum standards.

What You'll Bring

  • NVQ Level 3 in Children's Social Care and/or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards one within a set timeframe.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of The Children's Act and Children's Social Care.
  • Previous experience working with young people in a care setting is essential.
