Learning Support Assistant – SEN School
Full-Time | Long-Term | January 2026 Start | Borehamwood

Supply Desk is proud to be working in partnership with a nurturing SEN school in Borehamwood to recruit a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for a full-time, long-term role starting in January 2026.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners with additional needs. If you’re passionate about inclusive education and thrive in a collaborative school environment, we’d love to hear from you!

The Role:

You’ll support teaching staff and the SENCO in delivering tailored support across Key Stage 1, with responsibilities aligned to your experience and the specific needs of the pupils.

Key Duties:

  • Delivering focused interventions in literacy, numeracy, and emotional development
  • Assisting with the implementation and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and active participation in lessons
  • Building strong, supportive relationships with pupils and colleagues
  • Adapting learning resources to suit individual learning styles
  • Tracking pupil progress and providing feedback to the class teacher
  • Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with children, ideally in a primary school setting
  • A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to support
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility and a genuine enthusiasm for helping children learn
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
