About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Chef to join a care home on the Isle of Wight. This is a fantastic opportunity for a chef who is passionate about providing nutritious, well-balanced meals that support the health and wellbeing of residents.

An Enhanced DBS is required due to the setting. For candidates travelling from further afield, a live-in option is available to support with accommodation.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and cook meals to meet residents’ dietary requirements, preferences, and medical needs.

• Ensure meals are served on time and presented to a high standard.

• Manage stock levels and order supplies efficiently.

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene, and health & safety in the kitchen.

• Adapt menus for specific dietary requirements (e.g., soft diets, allergens).

• Support and guide catering assistants when needed.

• Keep accurate records, including food safety checks, cleaning schedules, and stock management.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience as a Chef, ideally in a care home or healthcare setting.

• Knowledge of nutrition and special dietary needs.

• Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).

• Food Hygiene Level 2 (minimum) – Level 3 desirable.

• Strong time management and organisational skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• A compassionate and respectful attitude towards residents.
