| Maintenance Engineer North Bristol Up to £50,000 per annum + additional benefits Full-time | Permanent | Shift Pattern – Including Nights Job Description: Looking for a hands-on engineering role with variety, responsibility and a competitive package? RGB Recruitment is working with a well-established organisation to recruit an experienced Maintenance Engineer based in a static role in the North Bristol area. This is a varied, hands-on engineering role where you’ll be responsible for keeping the plant and equipment operating safely, efficiently and reliably by performing planned maintenance, responding to breakdowns, diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults, and maintaining the site sortation system. Please note: candidates must be comfortable working a rotating shift pattern which includes night shifts. The Role: As the Maintenance Engineer, your responsibilities will include: - Execute routine, preventative maintenance schedules on the main site sortation systems, conveyor networks, and plant equipment according to manufacturer guidelines. - Diagnose and fix complex electrical and mechanical faults rapidly during unexpected system breakdowns to minimise warehouse downtime - Carrying out all breakdowns and reactive maintenance tasks safely, to a high standard, and within agreed timeframes. - Ensuring all work is completed according to schedules and manufacturer guidelines. - Demonstrating strong fault-finding and skills, with a focus on achieving first-time fixes. - Accurately documenting all work completed, with attention to detail. - Applying sound knowledge of general engineering principles in daily tasks. - Performing both reactive and proactive repairs and improvement works across the site, including plant and equipment. The Person: We’re looking for a practical, multi-skilled Engineer who enjoys solving problems and working in a busy operational environment. You’ll ideally have: - Electrical Competency: Fault-finding and diagnosing issues with industrial wiring, three-phase power supplies, relays, contactors, and control panels. - Mechanical Competency: Maintaining and repairing heavy-duty drive systems, bearings, gearboxes, pneumatic systems, chains, and sprockets. - Automation & Sortation: Working knowledge of automated sortation systems, high-speed warehouse conveyors, sensors (photocells, proximity switches), and PLC-driven systems (typically troubleshooting inputs/outputs). - System Logging: Ability to use a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document work orders, track spare parts, and log equipment downtime.
