Maintenance Technician

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure equipment and facility systems operate safely and reliably to minimise downtime.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance activities to prevent breakdowns and optimise equipment performance.
  • Respond promptly to machine breakdowns and carry out corrective maintenance to restore operations efficiently.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve mechanical, electrical, or technical issues with minimal disruption.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment efficiency and safety standards.
  • Maintain compliance with all safety, health, and operational standards and procedures.
  • Attend to machine breakdowns and perform planned maintenance activities as scheduled.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 or ONC qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience in mechanical repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Strong electrical systems knowledge, including motors, circuits, and sensors.
  • Basic understanding of PLCs and control systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently.
  • High safety awareness and adherence to safety procedures and protocols.
  • Preventive and corrective maintenance skills with a proactive approach to equipment care.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.


Shift: 3 shift rotation team. 6am-12pm / 2pm - 10pm / 10pm - 6am (Monday - Thursday)
6am - 12pm / 12pm - 6pm / 6pm - Midnight (Friday)

Pay rate: £22.84 p/h
Hours: 39
Duration: 6 months
