Our client is a well-established, family-run business specialising in the design and manufacture of bespoke machinery and processing equipment for the food industry

Due to continued growth, they are looking to expand the team with a Mechanical Design Engineer

You'll be joining a supportive and innovative engineering team where your skills can make a real impact

The Role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of custom machinery, working on-site at their Newtownards facility. You will work closely with customer and the internal team to bring tailored engineering solutions to life.

• Designing bespoke machinery and fabrications to customer specifications
• Visiting customer sites to take measurements and determine technical requirements
• Creating and modifying drawings using SolidWorks
• Producing detailed production drawings for manufacture
• Ensuring designs are practical, efficient, and support ease of manufacturing
• Liaising with the production team to resolve technical design issues
• Organising and maintaining comprehensive design records

What We Are Looking For

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in machine building and design
• A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Strong skills in SolidWorks
• A proven track record in a similar role
• Experience in the food industry
• Solid knowledge of materials science and manufacturing processes
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A full, clean driving license
