Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Teacher Job Title: MFL Teacher Location: Aylesbury Start Date: September 2025 Contract Type: Full-time Salary: £33,075 to £50,471 (dependent on experience) We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Teacher to join our team in Aylesbury from September. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching French across Key Stages 3 to 5. About the Role:
- Plan and deliver engaging, interactive French lessons that meet the diverse needs and abilities of all students.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that fosters enthusiasm for language learning and cultural appreciation.
- Utilise a range of effective teaching strategies and resources—including communicative activities, multimedia tools, and authentic materials—to support language acquisition.
- Regularly assess student progress using both formative and summative methods, providing constructive feedback to aid their development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement a cohesive Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) curriculum tailored to a wide range of learners.
- Contribute to the wider school community by organising and participating in extracurricular activities such as language clubs, cultural events, and international exchanges to enrich students’ linguistic and cultural experiences.
The ideal candidate will:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- A degree in Modern Foreign Languages or a closely related discipline.
- High level of proficiency in French, with the ability to teach the language to a high standard.
- Demonstrated experience teaching Modern Foreign Languages at the secondary school level, with a proven track record of strong student outcomes.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a genuine passion for fostering language learning and intercultural understanding.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to establish a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and a proactive approach to contributing to wider school initiatives.
