Painter (Student Accommodation) Position Overview: We’re seeking a skilled Painter to join an ongoing temporary project, working within student accommodation properties. This role offers flexibility, competitive hourly rates, and consistent work throughout the week. Key Details: - Working Week: Monday to Friday - Working Hours: 8 am–4 pm or 9 am–5 pm (flexi-time available) - Hourly Rate: £15.00 – £18.00 per hour - Duration: Ongoing temporary project (with potential for extension) Responsibilities: - Paint and decorate student rooms, studios, kitchens, and communal areas to a high standard - Prepare surfaces: cleaning, sanding, filling cracks/holes, masking, and priming - Apply finishes such as emulsions, gloss, varnish—and potentially wallpaper or other treatments - Handle touch-ups as needed - Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in work areas; ensure safe use of ladders, and protective gear - Minimise disruption in occupied and communal student environments through courteous and professional conduct - Collaborate effectively with onsite staff and other trades to meet project goals and deadlines Required Skills & Attributes: - Proven experience in painting and decorating, especially within residential or student accommodation settings - Strong attention to detail and tidy workmanship - Ability to follow health and safety protocols and safely handle equipment - Professional, reliable, friendly, and adaptable approach to working in occupied environments - Self-motivated, capable of working independently with minimal supervision - Own tools and PPE preferred (or willingness to bring them) Preferred Qualifications (if applicable): - NVQ Level 2 in Painting & Decorating, City & Guilds, or relevant apprenticeship - Valid CSCS card and/or full UK driving license (especially if work spans multiple sites or requires travel) Benefits: - Flexible working hours within standard weekday shifts - Competitive hourly pay aligned with market rates for student housing painting roles - Tools and PPE may be provided (depending on arrangement) - Opportunity for consistent, ongoing work with potential extension Why Join Us: - Work within vibrant student environments—help create fresh, welcoming spaces for residents - Flexible schedule + steady work across weekdays - Connect and collaborate with supportive onsite teams and management |
